Keeping DWHUniversity in the minds of the Team

During these uncertain times, we find ourselves navigating through many totally unforeseen challenges. These new and unfamiliar circumstances add an elevated importance to our Supervisory, Management and Leadership Skills. Looking to the future we cannot neglect the continuing development of our People. It is critical to keep the Management Teams at the peak of their game.
Everyone has DWHUniversity Graduates, current Students and future Students that need a sustaining Review and Development Program. Given the unique demands of social distancing, travel restrictions, and available time, please take every opportunity available to support and reinforce the skills learned in DWHUniversity.

Following are some thoughts on possible options.
  • Planned Encounters / Growth Reviews
    • One-on-one coaching review discussions on a specific DWHUniversity topic pertinent to the individual Team Member.
  • Teach Backs during Project Manager and Division President Meeting
    • Add a short component of DWHUniversity content to each of your video conferencing sessions. Rotate individual presenters and have discussion period. Remember, it is always easier to edit rather than create.
  • Video and Power Point Presentations from Excellence
    • Snippets from past Excellence presentations can set up a focused discussion during Planned Encounters, Growth Reviews and Team and Management Meetings.
  • Your favorite websites, blogs, newsfeeds or HBJ articles.
    • Individual and team “homework” assignments to set up subsequent discussions.
  • Case Studies
    • Individually, and in groups, create Case Studies for use in Lessons Learned Logs; L3
  • Your DWHUniversity Book
    • The index of your DWHUniversity book is a viable guideline for the business equivalent of “home schooling”.
  • Key chapters from your favorite books or articles; One Minute Manager, Monkey Management, Leadership by Wandering Around (MBWA), Listening Skills, etc.
    • Speed reviews of previously discussed books and articles. Lessons learned and used? Successful and unsuccessful? Inspect your expects.
  • Computer Video Conferencing.
    • Never “wing it;” always have a plan / agenda. From Effective Communications; Understanding before Agreement, and the more senses you affect the better the possibility of effective communication. KISS; Keep it Short & Simple.
  • KASH; an individualized tool for continuing Leadership Development. Knowledge List
    • KASH is in its element in times like these; individual, specific, and inspectable.
